- Recently I was at a party and after being watched intently for some time a mature guest stated
Mmmmmm I had never thought of it like that and it got me thinking....
What you think you are paying for = someone to paint faces
What you are actually paying for:
TIME
Before the party:
- Responding to booking queries.
- 20 minutes getting ready and loading my car.
- Travel time. Within Gisborne I allow an average of 10 minutes
- 15 minute set up at party
At the party:
1 hour of face painting time - what you think you are paying for.
After the party:
- 15 minutes pack down and reload car
- 10 minute travel home
- Unloading car and clean up of kit, washing brushes etc. - 20 minutes
1 hour of face painting equates to a minimum of 2 hours 40 minutes of my time

Is face painting a lucrative business?
I very much doubt that once I take into account my time and expenses I clear anywhere near the minimum hourly wage
…….…BUT I paint because
I LOVE what I do
I want to continue getting better & better
and most of all
Creating smiles
is the essence of my business
It is my raison d'etre
